What is Emotional Health?

Emotional health is one of the seven dimensions of wellness. For true health, each of these dimensions is important:

  • Physical

  • Spiritual

  • Occupational

  • Intellectual

  • Environmental

  • Social

  • Emotional

Emotional health involves our thoughts and feelings, and how we react to them.

Emotional health refers to overall psychological well-being. It includes how we feel and think about ourselves, how we feel about others, and how we react to situations whether they are happy or sad, disappointing or exciting.  A person who is emotionally healthy is resilient and able to deal with the problems that can come up in life in a calm, proper, and effective manner. If you’re feeling out-of-balance when it comes to your emotional health, your health coach can help. Depending on your needs, this may include connecting you with stress management or therapy resources.
