Low Impact Fitness
Have you ever experienced aches or pains during your workout session? Did you know that a low impact workout will allow you to get the cardiovascular and strengthening benefits you’re looking for without placing stress on your joints? Individuals with osteoarthritis or recent joint injuries can especially benefit from this form of exercise, but, really anyone can participate!
- Aerobics: Try dancing, walking, swimming, water aerobics, or chair aerobics
- Strengthening: Use small hand weights or resistance bands for a total body workout.
- Flexibility & Balance: Yoga, Pilates, or Tai chi provide you with total body stretching and strengthening. Try a few balance exercises to reduce your falling risk and to maintain your overall sense of mobility.
