Meet Vida Superstar Zach!

Meet Zach. He is a young, active 20 something who works in Merchandising at West Marine.

Before Vida:

"My health was never really a big problem. I've always been super active and I eat well, but there were things that I had questions about like my energy levels, in particular. I wanted to always be feeling really good, but I was going through ups and downs."   

Zach got paired with coach Ariana. 

"What makes Ariana a great coach is really just her personality and the fact that she's very personable. She's been super active her whole life and so have I. She's got great insight on everything. I started doing CrossFit about two years ago. She had been doing CrossFit for a long time, and was very helpful in telling me what are the things I should be eating to ensure that I'm maintaining that energy. "Oh, you just bumped up CrossFit from two times a week to three times a week? That means you need to really make sure you're getting all that stretching in and make sure that you're getting at least as much sleep." When you make a big change to one thing you need to then focus on where that's gonna have an impact on your life. She kinda helps me see that whole thing together. I feel like she'd be a great friend of mine if we weren't connected on Vida. That's really what it is. She's become a friend of mine."

Seeing Changes:

"The one thing that changed for me since I've been working with Vida was my energy levels overall. Feeling good in the office in the morning, through the day, and then going home. What I did learn is that was primarily about what I was eating. I was waking up and eating cereal. She (my coach) was like, "You work out so much all the time that you need way more protein." The first change that I made was I started eating really high protein breakfasts. Then that would sustain me for a good amount of time, then because I'm burning so many calories I needed something else, kind of pre-lunch. I had to come up with a creative healthy snack that I would eat. I would always maybe eat something, but I got really great ideas from my Vida coach on what I could be eating."

Thankful for Vida: 

"What I want out of life is, mainly, to just be happy and successful. And not just successful in terms of wealth and career, but successful in terms of the connections I have with people, and the places I get to go and experience, and how I can take little pieces of all of those experiences and put them all together to create something that's meaningful. And it all starts with good health. In order to be able to see what path I should be going on, I need to be feeling good. And so, in that way, the Vida program has really helped me out."

"Vida's helped me understand the components of my health that are shaping my entire world. I'm just so thankful that this came into my life."
