Remembering to Relax
It seems like we should instinctively know how to relax, but we don’t. Stress impedes every part of our lives, and that stress can interfere with our physical and mental health. Remember that in order to get your body healthy, you have to get your mind healthy.
- Make relaxation a daily priority. Practice deep belly breathing at least five times a day, especially when you wake up, before you eat and before you go to bed.
- Do visualization exercises to keep yourself balanced and spend a week without any access to media or computer screens.
- Get plenty of rest. Evaluate your sleep patterns and do what you can to achieve more restful sleep.
- Eliminate the toxins and environmental poisons from your life that can contribute to stress and trip up your eating and exercise. Try to eat and live clean and green as best you can.
