Ever wonder how to judge your aerobic exercise intensity without having a personal trainer? Moderate intensity means you can talk with ease, and high intensity means it is difficult to talk or say more than a few words.

  • It is best to plan 60-minutes of exercise, (not the TV show) daily if you are trying to lose weight. If you are looking to just maintain your weight, 30-minutes daily is just fine.
  • Be sure to stay hydrated while you exercise. Consume 8-16 oz. of water before aerobic exercise, and 4-8 oz. every 15-20 minutes during exercise.
  • Special note: most people with high blood pressure need to avoid sports drinks, which can be high in salt and extra calories.
  • Lastly, after exercise be sure to include carbs, and protein in your snack or meal to recharge!
